The hit kareoke game Singstar will be launched on PlayStation 4 later this year, and it's bringing a number of changes with it - including losing its microphones. Instead, the microphones will make way for your smartphone! The new Singstar will launch with a mobile app that will link to the game, and can be used as a microphone. The app will also work with the PS3 version of the game upon launch, and will link to a huge number of other songs online. The app will be available for both iOS and Android devices, although Windows Phone could be an option as well soon enough.
SingStar has been a long-running series of games published by Sony, with its first game having been launched in 2004 for the PS2. Since then, there have been over 30 additions to the series, for both PS2 and PS3.
