A new app is purporting itself to be the Uber of the medical world. Launched in New York City today, Pager will use your details and location to find a selection of participating doctors. You can then pick whichever doctor seems best to treat your particular symptoms. With one button you can set up an instant phone consultation - for a heftier price, you can bring the doctor to come and see you at your place.
Of course, healthcare isn't cheap as it is, and Pager doesn't offer a cheaper experience. It's $50 for a phone call, while a house call is $300. The first thing you have to do upon installation of the app is to set up a profile with a photo and input your credit card details, making sure transactions are quick and instataneous (but also ensuring you don't abuse of the app just to get the doctor's details). Like Uber, it's easy - but expensive to boot.
