According to sources in the tech world, Apple fans have an exciting time ahead of them, with the unveiling of the iPhone 5S rumored to be taking place on September 10. Rumor also has it though, that we will also see the release of another iPhone model at the same time, which would make this the first double-release in Apple’s history.
The second release is thought by many to be the iPhone 5C, a phone so often theorized about in technology blogs and magazines that it seems almost mythological by now. Rumors have swirled around the iPhone 5C since the first stories of it began to leak, but what seems certain for now is that it will be a cheaper model of the iPhone. Currently it has been suggested that this model of the iPhone will retail for somewhere between $350 and $400, a large step down from the current asking price for the iPhone 5, which still starts at around $650. It is thought that the 5C might be conceptualized to help Apple’s sales overseas, particularly in Asia where many technology markets are dominated by other smartphones.
Whilst the rumored release of the iPhone 5C is a dream come true for those who’ve always wanted an iPhone but found the price tag too daunting, diehard Apple fans are dreaming of the release of the iPhone 5S. The 5S will take the place of the iPhone 5 as the flagship phone for Apple, and will come with a faster processor and an improved camera, whilst keeping the same body as the iPhone 5.
One thing is certain, if you are still hanging on to an old iPhone with the intention of selling it, you had better put it on the market before the new releases drive your asking price further down.
