Revenge porn site owners Eric Chason and Kevin Bollaert have been ordered by a federal district court judge to pay $385,000 to a woman who was unwillingly featured on their website.

A lawsuit was filed against the pair of digital creeps in May 2013, after a “Jane Doe” plaintiff claimed that sexually explicit photos of her were being featured on the website. The photos featured on the You Got Posted revenge porn website were taken when the plaintiff was still a minor and distributed online without her knowledge or consent.

The judgment against Chason and Bollaert consists of $150,000 awarded for both counts of child pornography, $75,000 in punitive damages, as well as $10,000 for the right of publicity count. The huge total sum of $385,000 is intended to act as a deterrent to other revenge porn site owners and operators.

Marc Randazza, the plaintiff’s attorney gave a statement commenting on the damages done by revenge porn websites. “These sites irreparably harm their victims, and often without any criminal action against them. In this case, a civil suit allowed our client to obtain justice against the people who exploited her.”
