Nvidia introducing $3,000 graphics card

If you thought the Mac Pro was expensive, you might be in for another shocked. Visual computing technology company Nvidia have just announced the release of the GeForce Titan Z, which is essentially the latest dual-GPU graphics card. Except, this dual-GPU graphics card retails at $3000.

The Titan Z was introduced by Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang at the company's yearly GPU Technology Conference. While it has not been determined what speed the pair of Kepler GPUs that power the Titan Z will run at, the 12GB of RAM and 5,760 processing cores it incorporates could mean a heck of a lot. To put it into persepctive, the Titan Black has half the RAM and processing cores and runs at 889Mhz - so, imagining the Titan Z running at double the speed, if not more, would not be far-fetched. The card is designed specifically with 5K rather than 4K in mind, as well as multi-monitor gaming.

"If you're in desperate need of a supercomputer that you need to fit under your desk, we have just the card for you," said Huang about the Titan Z. Well, if you have the money for it.
