Google trying to make Gmail's Promotions tab more fun

The introduction of the Promotions tab to the Gmail inbox layout seemed likely to sound the death knell for internet marketers, and even more so when Google introduced an 'Unsubscribe' button to the header of all promotional emails. It appears that the tech giant has taken some pity on online marketers, and is experimenting with the oft-sidelined tab. The trial is showcasing promotional emails as cards with large images at the top, with the only text in said card revolving around any deals included in the email. Users can flick through promotions with Pinterest-style horizontal infinite scrolling. Clicking on a card will take you directly to the deal. You can opt-in by clicking on this link.
