Wearable technology is one of the fastest-growing sectors for innovation these days, with gadgets such as the Pebble smartwatch and Google Glass capturing media and consumer attention. The next step to add to your technology wardrobe comes in the form of compact smartphone companion the Smarty Ring.

Obviously you won’t be sorting through your email or checking out YouTube videos from your index finger any time soon, but the Smarty Ring is geared towards being paired with your smartphone to keep you updated when you need it the most. The wearable gadget will have a simple, subtle display which will give you important information sent directly from your phone.

According to the Smarty Ring’s designers, the device will have a 24-hour battery life which will allow you to stay connected to your phone all day. With the Smarty Ring on, users will subtly be alerted to incoming information such as new emails, calls, or chat notifications, as well as being able to monitor smartphone battery life and alerts. Smarty Ring will even warn users if they get more than 30 feet away from their smartphones.

Early adopters and investors might be interested in checking out the Smarty Ring’s Indiegogo campaign to get in on the wearable tech wave.
