Fingerprint Sensor Coming to Galaxy Flagship Phone

Samsung ended months of speculation and rumors this week by announcing the upcoming release of the Galaxy S5- their first smartphone with fingerprint scanning capabilities. Any Samsung fans out there who scoffed at the iPhone 5S- this is your cue to feel silly.

Always seeking to do bigger and better things than its main competitor, Samsung’s Galaxy S5 boasts a range of other features that are nowhere to be seen on any Apple phone. Aside from having a bigger display and an improved camera, the phone is also water resistant and can be totally submerged in water up to 3 feet. For you germophobes out there: the phone is also totally dust resistant, keeping its insides free of hardware-destroying debris.

Another feature for the upcoming smartphone was announced early this week thanks to a partnership between Samsung and PayPal. Galaxy S5 users will be able to user their thumbprint to authenticate payments in any store which accepts PayPal- both online and in the real world. This handy update should make life a little easier for everyone except recovering shopaholics.
