Facebook continuing to rule social networks

Although Facebook's decreasing popularity with teenagers has been reported widely as of recent, this has had no effect on its role as everyone else's favorite social network. Among US adults who frequently use the internet, 71 percent use Facebook (compared to 67 percent in 2012). However, this boom also comes coupled with increased usage of other social networks: LinkedIn going up from 20 to 22 percent, Pinterest from 15 to 21 percent, Twitter from 16 to 18 percent and Facebook-owned Instagram from 13 to 17 percent. Although Facebook remains the most popular advertising-based social network among the rest (and therefore the most profitable), it is important to note the leap in figures for the rest of the bunch.
