eBay users: Change your passwords

eBay has published a security notice advising customers to change their passwords ASAP. The company spoke of a cyberattack that has made a database of encrypted passwords and other personal data at risk. The blog post addressing the situation said that attackers managed to get ahold of employee credentials. This gave them direct access to eBay's corporate network between later February and early March.

No payment information, including anything from PayPal, was compromised in the attack. eBay has said it will start issuing notices to user via various channels today, including email, site communications and social media. The company is also in contact with law envorcement and security experts to try and identify the attackers in question.
