If you actually haven’t heard of Candy Crush Saga by now, you’re really one of the few. The addictive, record-breaking mobile game has been dominating app stores since it was released a year ago, with over 500 million downloads and 282 million active players per month. Now, game developers King will prove that they’re not just a one-hit wonder by releasing a new game for iOS and Android.
You may already be familiar with Farm Heroes Saga, a Facebook game in a similar match-three style to Candy Crush, featuring plucky little farm animals and cute matching veggies. Since Farm Heroes Saga is already available on Facebook, King’s new move will allow users to sync their games between their Facebook and their phone. This means you can pick up where you left off whatever platform you’re playing on when you download King’s newest game.
The cute farm adventure could do a lot to cement King’s position as top of the mobile game charts. Enjoying a year of amazing success with Candy Crush Saga’s tempting gameplay, it is estimated that King takes in over $900,000 per day. Another success could keep King from going down the same route as rival company Zynga, who fell off the radar after failing to produce a popular follow-up to global hit FarmVille.
