Block Unwanted Articles on Facebook

Viral media websites like Upworthy, Buzzfeed and Viralnova seem to be more common on Facebook these days than any actual updates. If certain members of your friends list seem doggedly determined to share absolutely every list of inspirational quotes on the internet, you now have a tool to block out articles you don’t want to see.

Although it has been possible for some time to stop seeing articles posted by particular friends, there was nothing to combat the flood of articles across your Newsfeed. Thanks to Facebook’s latest updates, you can now stop articles from certain websites from ever appearing in your Newsfeed again.

This magical little change is already rolling out across Facebook accounts around the world, so you should be able to take control of your viral article overload soon enough. To block unwanted articles, simply click the small arrow in the right corner of an offending post on your Newsfeed and select “Hide All from [Website]” from the dropdown menu.

Viola! No more articles on the internet’s Top 300 Funny Cat GIFs for you.
