Anyone purchasing Google Glass (and that could be anyone now) can now look forward to a bunch of new apps to make the most of. Foursquare, TripIt and OpenTable are now being offered on Glass, giving Explorers the ability to check in to areas, make restaurants reservations and get updates on planned trips. Flappy Bird to take to the skies once more

The creator of the hugely addictive, yet short-lived Flappy Bird has announced that his tiny bird will be flapping its wings once again. Flappy Bird's sequel will be launched on Apple's App Store in August, with a new multiplayer mode. Nguyen has also talked about how the original became excessively addictive, and how he would prefer it if people spent their time on something more productive than Flappy Bird. With this in mind, he claims Flappy Bird take 2 has "less addictive" qualities, although it is unclear as to how he'll achieve that.

WhatsApp ousted by Snapchat in U.S.

Snapchat's recent troubles don't seem to be, well, troubling its users much. The app is now the third-biggest messaging app in the U.S., according to a new report by network specialist company Sandvine. The report found that Snapchat is the top third-party messaging app by volume, which means the app is now "generating more traffic each day than competing services such as WhatsApp." Sandvine used figures reached on New Year's Eve to come up with this data:

Microsoft, Adobe publish critical security updates

Both Microsoft and Adobe have released critical security fixes to plug dangerous security holes in their products. Microsoft has published eight update bundles for 13 security vulnerabilities for Windows, as well as software that runs in the operating system. In the meantime, Adobe issued patches for holes in Adobe Acrobat, Reader and Flash Player.
